Abracadabra Farm has done a full circle from being well on the way to include community to now, a blank canvas. It is 20 acres situated in the beautiful Shoalhaven with a kinescope of activity available at your fingertips such as snorkeling, fishing, boating, hiking, horse riding, kyaking, motorbike ,mountain bike riding that is ready to tap into to appreciate this world for what it is….remarkably magical! The vision for Abracadabra is to develop through inclusion of having a vision of abundance of food, flowers and workshop's that awaken and guide us to inner peace. The goal is simple.. to build community that are aware, sustainable, have conscious values through developing understanding of mindfulness, homesteading, permaculture and harmonious connection to self and country. It all sounds a bit hairy fairy!! Well it’s not..Practical skills in building and livestock management including horses, cows and chickens are highly recommended.

"Namoorook" circa 1895, is a beautifully restored homestead on 71 acres of farm land approximately 1.5 kms from Leongatha and 130kms from Melbourne. Adopting regenerative agricultural practices, Namoorook is a mixed farming operation with livestock, organic fruit orchard and vegetable gardens. We hope it will become an example of how food and farming systems can use the power of nature to increase biodiversity, enrich the soil, capture carbon, improve watersheds enhancing the entire ecosystem.

Our home and garden are on the beautiful mountaintop of Mt Toolebewong. Our home is owner-built rammed earth construction and is surrounded by herb and native gardens, berries and fruit trees. Our place is about 20 minutes drive from our Healesville, and we can pick you up from the bus stop when you arrive. We are close to a major native animal sanctuary, good wineries and the thriving and beautiful Yarra Valley. A typical day would involve 4 - 6 hours of work, with morning tea and lunch. Volunteering includes gardening, weeding, mulching, pruning, compost making, planting, wood collecting, splitting & stacking. Building tasks depend on skills and experience. There are two days off each week for rest and recreation. Your accommodation is in a two bedroom self-contained flat attached to the end of our house. We enjoy a mixed diet, with some shared meals. We're not able to accommodate children. No smoking inside please. Initial stay 3-7 days, longer stays negotiable. Sandra is your lead host, a retired teacher/counsellor. She speaks French and a little German, loves gardening, playing ukelele, travel, friends and living in the bush. She loves that her adult children and grandchildren live nearby. Peter is a retired sociologist and environmentalist who adores fishing and table tennis, table soccer and travel.

We joined WWOOFing in Australia because of our love for nature, animals, and agriculture. We are highly interested about learning more about sustainable farming practices and life on a farm. Physical work doesn’t intimidate us; in fact, We are looking forward to the challenge and to the hands-on experience WWOOFing offers. By living and working in such a unique environment, we are excited not only to deepen our understanding of Australian agriculture but also to immerse ourselves in the country’s culture, connect with locals, and experience its incredible natural beauty. We look forward to the new experiences and personal growth that come with traveling and working abroad.

I like to give a hand to people who do good things for the nature and the community. Also, as I used to work at plastic reduction, teaching and documentary film making, I want to spend quality time learning about the relationship between human and environment.

We want to travel around Australia, but would like to alternate this with practical work. We would like to gain work experience and be able to contribute something. In addition, we also think it would be great fun to meet people and occasionally be able to experience a sort of home while traveling.

I joined WWOOF Australia because I want to experience what life is like in Australia. What better way to do that, than to work and live with an Australian family.  Another reason I joined WWOOF is because I heard only good things about it, from a friend who has already participated in the program. I am looking for my next adventure and I'm hoping that the WWOOF program can help me with that! I want to learn more about sustainable living and organic farming. I would also like to learn how to take care of farm animals. I want to learn as much as I can through hands-on experience. I have done a lot of volunteer work throughout my life and I find helping others rewarding.  I genuinely enjoy meeting new people, hearing their stories, and making lifelong connections.

The Knowles is 4 hectares of stunning north facing hillside over-looking the Australian mainland’s most southerly town-Apollo Bay. We love living here. And we love sharing our home with people from around the world. We have fruit trees, hazel nuts, olives, sheep, goats, bees & many, many weeds. There is always something to do and much to learn - from each other. WWOOFers share our cozy farm house in either double room or single guest room. We also have a seperate modern caravan with bathroom. We are 5 kms from town. Omnivorous folk preferred, but vegetarians are fine too. We share our home and like to get to know our volunteering guests. Volunteering is mostly gardening & looking after animals. COVID Vaccination required. Good cooks & people with a sense of humour preferred.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I have been volunteering in Bushcare for the last couple of months which was a complete change in what I was doing before and actually enjoyed my time doing this work. What was kind of missing was the connection to animals most days. Since I grew up in a very regional area in Germany close to a Farm where I occasionally helped milking the cows, mowing with the tractor, fencing, and feeding the cows, I thought this could be a good way to get a closer connection with animals while doing some other work too.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
