I've joined WWOOF to help expand my travelling exeriences and learn about farming and meet people who know about it. I've always had a dream to get "off grid" but have never had the knowledge/finances/confidence to do it. I'd like to meet people who have a similar mindset that the world is way too complicated and we should be able to be "self sufficient" and live in communities that share and enjoy a simple life. I like to get my hands dirty and I like simple down on the earth people who care about their neighbours.

We are so fortunate to live in paradise, high rainfall green pastures, nestled under magnificent mount Barrow. Usually once or twice a winter we’re treated to snow, adding a whole new element to our beautiful property. We proudly sit at our dining table and enjoy meals of all our own produce, from multiple vegetables to mouth watering beef. We have a closed in blueberry and raspberry enclosure ensuring our freezer is full and our cupboards stocked with preserves. We breed pedigree golden retrievers, black Angus cows, Birman cats, and light Sussex chooks go without saying, perfect entertainment for any animal lover. We have a permanent running creek, home for mountain trout and spectacular platypus who pop their delightful heads up every evening. Our house is quite large as our free range children have all left the nest. Leaving us with large empty bedrooms. Our wwoof guests are welcomed and treated as part of our family.

Now, I study how agriculture impacts the environment, but it is difficult to gain experiments in farming at my university. Therefore, I want to learn eco-friendly farming methods by working with actual farmers. I also want to enjoy Australian life 🙂

After months of receiving so much from nature and the communities around us, we feel it’s time to give back. Joining WWOOF feels like a natural next step — a chance to contribute, to learn more about sustainable living, farming, and animal care, and to connect with inspiring people. We’re coming with open hearts, eager minds, and a strong work ethic, hoping to build real relationships, support meaningful projects, and continue growing through this beautiful journey

We would like to gain experience in farming, looking after animals, and the maintenance of a working farm. We seek to develop our knowledge, get hands-on experience, and implement it on our farm in the future. We are very open-minded and enjoy meeting new and intriguing people.

We are located in the beautiful Yarra Valley just outside Melbourne, Australia.  The area is renowned for it's wineries and natural features such as Mt Donna Buang, waterfalls and the meandering Yarra River.  We have a self contained, one bedroom cottage on our 9 acres, which is ideal for a solo traveller, a couple or of a pair of friends.  It is perfect for those wanting some time alone in a serene and peaceful environment.

We’re so keen to learn about organic and sustainable farming practices, ones that help to maintain the environment rather than destroy it, appreciating how important these practices are in an increasingly unsustainable food system. As a nutritionist, Eleanor strongly believes that what you eat has the biggest impact on your health. She’s an advocate for eating high quality, local and sustainably sourced food. More generally speaking, we’re excited to meet like-minded people, learning from their experiences, broadening our own horizons and acquiring new life skills. At the same time, we hope that our own skills and experiences can add value to the lives of our hosts and the people that we will meet. Joe loves to cook and is excited to help out in the kitchen, using amazing ingredients grown in beautiful places.

We are now able to accept people for 2nd and 3rd year visas under the volunteer work scheme for Bushfire or Flood recovery efforts.  Yes we can sign off on these visas in conjunction with volunteer work. https://wwoof.com.au/2nd-3rd-year-working-holiday-visas-update/ Our main residence is located in the centre of Orange NSW. We have a permaculture garden located at home and we also have a large scale Permaculture Educational Centre. Holistically managed being built on 97 acres at Cargo. There is quite a lot of mixed work available at Cargo starting with the building of vegetable gardens, service areas for composting, buildings, food forest and pathways. Accommodation consists of a caravan  with all facilities available at the property. If volunteering at the home then you will stay in a room located at the home or the Camper van. Old fashioned home cooked meals for the evening meals with everyone joining in. Length of stay negotiable. Keen to hear from people who would like to stay long term and work with us to develop a village setting at our Permaculture site at Cargo.  Plus those of you who also can help us with garden maintenance and animal care in town at our home.

We are excited to join WWOOFing in Australia to experience the country's unique culture and farming practices up close. As nature lovers, we see this as a great opportunity to work on different farms, expand our skills, and learn new things. We also appreciate how WWOOFing allows us to travel sustainably, form authentic connections with local hosts, and discover parts of Australia that most tourists never see.   When we return to Germany, we are considering living in a self-built tiny house in nature. Our dream is to lead a more self-sufficient lifestyle, growing some of our own food and possibly living off-grid. We believe that the practical experience we gain through WWOOFing will teach us valuable skills for this future.   Through WWOOFing, we also want to explore different approaches to life and see various lifestyle concepts. This will help us better understand what kind of life we want to create for ourselves, balancing sustainability, freedom, and connection with nature.

We have a beautiful 40 acre horse agistment property, veggie garden & fruit trees and approx. 5 acres bush. 3 min drive to surf beach, bay beach & Inverloch town or 10 min drive to Wonthaggi, a larger town. Push bikes available. About 15 to 20 minutes to the beach and town by bike. We are very interested in living a sustainable lifestyle and hope that our WWOOFers are also interested in living sustainably and learning, and sharing knowledge of this. There are almost always wallabies and kangaroos at our farm and if you are lucky you may see echidnas, wombats & occasional koalas. Volunteering may include harvesting, fertilizing, pollinating, composting, mulching, hay carting, weeding, fencing, planting, food preservation, and other jobs as they become available.  Sometimes there is some work caring for horses: often all the work is in the garden and paddock maintenance, as the horses are mainly looked after by their owners. Accommodation for up to 3 in our home, although we usually prefer 2. Shared meals, cook together. We eat a healthy, sustainable diet.  Bron is vegan and while Ray eats most foods, many meals are vegan or vegetarian.  Vegetarians & vegans catered for.  No children, no smoking, all stays negotiable on application. Please let us know your available dates when you apply and the length of time that you would like to WWOOF here. (1 to 2 weeks preferred).
