Rusty Gum Farm is a 70-acre family-run property in the Lockyer Valley, Queensland. We grow and process organic ginger, sell mature ornamental olive trees, and produce small-batch infused honey. Our farm is home to koalas, native bushland, three horses, two alpacas, a Maremma sheepdog, free-ranging chickens, guinea fowl, and turkeys. We welcome WWOOFers who are keen to learn, help out, and enjoy life on a working farm with a focus on sustainability and community.

I joined WWOOF to gain new skills, bring my enthusiasm to help, and create meaningful experiences. I’ve had amazing volunteering opportunities at an animal shelter and WWOOFing on a farm in New Zealand, and I’m eager to continue that journey in Australia. I want to learn from the land, exchange stories and meet new people. I’m excited to share meals, laughter, and help wherever needed.

We are called Ozparagus and produce green asparagus and now the first in Carnarvon white asparagus. We also grow passionfruit and have just planted tree Topia. Around Tree Topia we are currently fencing the area off to make a beautiful place to come sit maybe see some sculptures and chickens with ducks swimming in the pond going in.  Hoping for some sheep and goats to help chickens ducks keep the weeds down. Chickens run around free and put away at night for safety atm in the passionfruit old yards. You will experience many different cultures on the farm with backpackers from around the world. A family business with the grandparents, ourselves and the children living here. Of course, we have our resident Dog buster who is extremely friendly and will try to convince you he is hungry always. See his Instagram story on our page. Puss Puss is also here now she does pest control and recently gave birth to some kittens with a couple more staying on you will meet them when you come.  Currently Backpackers and woofers taking care of them and have named them Gin and Tonic  lol. We are slowly getting the farm to be very bio diverse with growing mushrooms and many more varieties of vegetables on the list in the next few months.  with some trials going on now successfully growing and canning beetroot and making a relish. Diversity is key to staying afloat and to have our own produce feeding us all here with the extra for the tourists when they come on the Fruit loop next year And of course, now we have thousands of new babies to care for with the bees arriving for the Everybee Everybody.  First harvest soon yay.  Also, we'd like to make the most of all the products so diving into making salves marinades and more As well as starting our own solider fly set up to produce chicken feed and nourishment for our soil. We love the idea of wwoofers to meet other cultures and teach you what we know. We are very excited with the diversity of wwoofers coming to join our community and now families to.  We can accommodate up to 17 people on the plantation so the calendar would not reflect true availability just send us a message and CJ can tell you how many beds are available.   Look forward to meeting you all. If you want any more information, then feel free to contact us here.  Alot more information and stories on Instagram and the Webpage.  With a Blog in the pipeline (when time off farm can happen) now as many woofer stories and their own wee adventures here need to be told nicknaming the plantation the love plantation like love boat for land.  Quite a few connections made and many a great night had with everyone on farm.  It's like travelling the world again for us without having to leave the verandah. A place we design and discuss many an idea for the future and we really want woofers to leave their mark. Like Taura planted the garlic I'm about to use and she will get to enjoy it as well.   We very much look forward to meeting you all CJ and Markham

to get some work experience and explore new places. i beleive through wwoof i will be able to try out a diverse aray of work within agriculture, where elsewhere would probably not get the opportunity to. I am also keen to meet new people along the way. this program will build my confidence and knowledge. other students completing the agricultural course at university have come from a farming background, and since I do not, this would be a good way to enxperience it and get a feel for myself

We live in the city and need to break the familiar work, home, sleep, repeat cycle for a bit. We have decided to take 5 weeks off to head from Brisbane down to Tasmania to see if we might be able to catch the Aurora and connect more with nature. We hope that WWOOfing will give us the loose structure that a break often needs, collecting fire wood, building fences, tending to animals, helping maintain structures, cultivating plans, in a different scenery, and sharing life on property. We think this will be a wonderful experience for our children too - there is so much to experience beyond our state!

Ten acres in Mount Barker WA, with panoramic views of the Stirling Range, is in the very early stages of development. My father and I built the main house in 2024 and the commencement of the site plan, designed around permaculture principles, will begin when autumn sets in. I live alone and would appreciate a few extra sets of hands. I have studied permaculture online (Geoff Lawton PDC) which has topped up my knowledge and inspired a life long dream to create a sustainable/productive property - i am always excited to learn from others as I know many hold a diverse range of skills and far greater depth and wealth of knowledge than I. 2025’s aim will be the construction and planting of two major swales, among many other tasks and projects. Many hands make light work and two or more heads are better than one. I will be excited for the opportunity to host equally passionate Permi’s and hard workers to help me to get closer to realising an ambition to live sustainably and produce delicious food.

J'ai choisi le woofing pour l'expérience humaine. Le concept est génial : rencontrer de vrais locaux et pouvoir les aider en échange d'hospitalité et de moments conviviaux.

I would LOVE to live as part of an off grid community, and so I want to learn as much I can about organic farming, and alternative lifestyles. I love learning new skills!
