I joined WWOOF because I think it's a great way to get to know local people, experience Australian life/culture and learn something about organic growing.

I wanted to try WWOOFing a few years ago, but it didn’t work out at the time. I eventually forgot about the website, but during a recent visit to a small farm, the owners reminded me of it. Since I enjoy being in nature and helping people, I thought I’d give it another go.

I'd love to try WWOOF-ing as I want to learn where our food comes from and how to potentially be self-sufficient! As well as learning about different farming practices, organic vs non organic, working through different seasons and what that means for us as farmers/planters and our health impacts. During my time here, I'd love to gain a variety of experiences, try different ways of living, too meet genuine people and get out to the countryside 🙂

My dream is to become the Prime Minister of Japan. That's why I would like to join in WWOOF. I have three life goals. First, leave my name in history. Second, to contribute to the further development of Japan. Third, do a job that many people thank you for. A century after a person dies, everyone forgets them. I feel so empty. But everyone knows a historical figure from a long time ago. Since I was born into this world, I want to be that kind of person. Japan is the most special country in the world. International political scientist Samuel Huntington divided the world into eight civilizations in his book "clash of civilizations". According to it, only Japan is building one civilized area in one country. I am proud to be Japanese. Therefore, I would like to contribute to the future development of Japan. You never know when humans will die. So, if I were to die now, I want to be able to accept it. The greatest happiness for me is working for others, contributing to their problem solving, and being thanked. In order to achieve the above, I would like to become the Prime Minister of Japan. For that reason, I am now affiliated with the Faculty of Policy Management at Keio University, where I work as a secretary to Koichi Hagiuda, a Japanese politician. I have exciting experiences every day. But I don't know the world. I don't know the values of people around the world. So I want to work on a farm in Australia. And when I become Prime Minister of Japan in the future, I will definitely achieve those three life goals.

I would like to try working in a different country from Japan, and I'm interested in organic farming. When I learned about farming in high school, I became interested in it. But, I do not have enough to have knowledge and experience in farming yet. I see this opportunity as a chance to stay and work, where I can study the farming knowledge by communicating with the host family. I also want to meet and be friends with your family and many people there.

We're a small family living on a 3-acre homestead property on the rural NW coast of Tasmania. We produce a portion of our own food throughout the year from our orchard, berry patch, hothouse, vegetable garden and chickens. Our property can offer a good general exposure to a wide variety of regenerative, sustainable and resilient practices. We welcome short and long stays.

Day's Walk Farm is located just 22km from the Melbourne CBD and a short trip from Melbourne International Airport - it is a real Certified Organic suburban farm - though it's tucked away in a quieter part of the valley, where a cool river runs lined with red gums. I grow mixed vegetables organically and I am also part of a team that grows young farmers - see farmerincubator.org I have been at this farm since March 2015 and farming is one step at a time - a lot of work! So I could do with a hand. This is a great place for someone who enjoys working outside and cooking with a range of fresh farm produce. Work includes planting seedlings, weeding, whipper snipping, propagating, picking, some building projects and market garden work. We're a commercial farm. Accommodation is quite basic on the farm, in an old shed converted into an apartment or a cosy caravan. We use a bush bucket shower and compost toilet. The bus stop is a short walk up the hill, and using the bus and the train you can connect with Melbourne independently on your days off. The internet is accessible via hotspot for emails, for big downloads though you will have to stroll down to one of the two local libraries. (We can't get broadband internet here in the valley, yet...) I ask volunteers to work five days, taking two off. Work stops at lunch time, so the afternoons are free. However, there are also lots of books to read during your down-time, under the trees by the river. We recently bought a few board games too and we're currently installing a shed cinema and ceiling suspended day bed. I regularly get on the mat to do some yoga. Market garden work is quite physical so these activities help to balance life here. Shared meals and cooking using fresh produce from the market garden, mixed diet. No children. No smoking inside. Initial stay 2 weeks, longer stays negotiable. Cannot take WWOOFers in the middle of winter. If you aspire to be a farmer then this is good place to check out. Note that we run internships too, for those seeking a structured learning experience for a longer period of time. Find more information on our website: dayswalkfarm.com.au Staying at Day's Walk Farm is certainly an adventure, not a picnic! Thanks ! ! ! Primrose park is 6000 acres of beautiful, natural native land at Springsure, Central Highlands Queensland. The main homestead is approximately 50 metres from the original cottage house where our volunteers will stay. At the heart of everything we do are systems that promote land regeneration, free range animals and pure, non-tampered with fruits and vegetables. Our focus is Natural Sequence Farming, time controlled grazing and Joel Salatin's farming principles which mimic natural ecosystem processes. We do not sell any produce from our farm, our aim is to be merely self sufficient while helping Mother Nature to regenerate. The farm is open for volunteers to assist us in our personal gardens and animals, feeding the pigs and moving the chickens. Volunteers may also assist with some building and/or maintaining infrastructure, constructing leaky weirs, fixing fences, and gardening. We hope that having volunteers join us will be mutually beneficial. Volunteers will gain rewarding, hands-on experience, while we receive much-needed help around the farm. We offer comfortable accommodation in the original cottage house which has 7 bedrooms, shower, toilet, laundry, outdoor kitchen and lounge room. Linen, food, cutlery, crockery, cooking and cleaning needs are provided, with two separate outdoor verandahs to sit and enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Volunteers who stay at our place will gather knowledge and experience in a friendly farm stay environment.

My 17 acre property has been “ let go” and now I slowly wish to build it up to a sustainable family farm using permaculture principles. I hope to grow vegetables and have a couple of sheep, a few chooks and a couple of horses and invite city folk to stay and experience the serenity to stay and experience the heavenly quiet of the country. I am only beginning to get a few fences up , etc. I have a long way to go before   my place will be animal ready. WWOOFers would have self-contained accommodation in return for hand weeding, slashing, mowing, vegetable gardening or animal feeding.
