I joined WWOOF to pursue my passion for organic farming while traveling and to meet new farmers around the world. I enjoy growing food and flowers and being outside. I love traveling and travel a lot for my work. Prior to attending the University of Texas at Austin I spent my senior year of high school studying abroad in a small town in southern Spain. I have also taught English in Japan for one year. I have been gardening for about 15 years and have volunteered at some farms here in Austin, Texas. I like manual and physical labor and being outside, so being able to do this in another country is a great opportunity.

I hope to learn more about the land and farming practices while also learning more about myself and my working abilities. I am very hardworking and passionate. 🌱 Why I Joined WWOOF I joined WWOOF because I want to explore and understand the connection between nature, design, and sustainable living. I’m especially interested in landscape design and urban planning, and I believe working with plants and the land is essential for building beautiful and practical environments. WWOOF offers the chance to learn directly from people, nature, and experience—not just from books or classrooms. I hope to work closely with hosts who can teach me about gardening, building, landscaping, and farming, and who enjoy sharing knowledge, daily life, and conversation. I would be especially happy to hear from hosts who: Are open to sharing knowledge about gardening, landscaping, or building Enjoy cooking or sharing meals Like talking in English (even simple conversations help me improve!) Please feel free to message me. I reply quickly and am excited to meet kind and inspiring people!

We love to meet new people and acquire new skills. We love the idea of sharing experience especially with people from other countries and with different backgrounds. WWOOF looks like the best option to get in contact with the local reality across the Australia landscape that would be generally left aside from other travellers.

I previously had the experience of working on a farm in Uenomura, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. It was there that I learned about WWOOF, and I decided to try it while traveling abroad. I believe it is important to grow what you eat, which sparked my interest in agriculture. Among various agricultural practices, I am particularly interested in production methods that do not rely on chemical fertilizers, and when I start my own farming, I want to challenge myself to use natural methods, so I hope to learn as much as I can. Additionally, since WWOOF offers the opportunity to experience agriculture in various parts of the world, I think it provides the perfect environment for me to experience both travel and farming. I am looking forward to experiencing different terrains, climates, and cultures that are unlike the environment I have lived in until now.

I want to learn more about sustainable farming practises and land use. I love travelling and seeing new places and meeting new people but I am not good at being "on holiday", if you know what I mean. Staying and working on an unusual, innovative farm with open, welcoming people sounds like a wonderful time to me.

I joined WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) to immerse myself in new cultures and gain hands-on experience in sustainable farming. As an adventurous traveler, I wanted to explore different parts of the world while connecting with local communities. WWOOFing allows me to learn valuable skills in gardening and organic farming, all while enjoying the beauty of nature. I appreciate the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and make lasting friendships along the way. Additionally, the affordable travel aspect of WWOOFing enables me to explore new destinations while keeping costs low.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
