I joined WWOOF because I would love to be outdoors and do some farming. I am so interested in this world and the labour skills required, and think it is such a valuable pool of knowledge and resources that is used to provide to the communities and nations that farming serves. I love hands on work, I love meeting new people, and I really care about protecting the earth. I am passionate about reducing waste and combatting consumerist cultures, and believe that it is a marvellous thing when families are equipped to tend to land and animals and keep needs catered for through mindful consumption and considered care. I am just so excited to learn from WWOOF hosts.

Small 1850 sqm. Aquaponcis (small) vegetable gardens, fish, turtles, dog. Private room double or single. No public transport available. Scenic views. 3.5km from nearest small down. I work from home my husband and disabled daughter live here as well. We are new to gardens, veggies fish etc. No smoking property. Plenty of space to just bet away from it all. Must like dogs, turtles and fish. We have solar pumps in some of our ponds. Almost 360 views nearby. I work full time from home and also do some human rights advocacy and volunteering for people in crisis. My husband runs a factory in Melbourne. My daughter is out most days studying. Would love someone to help maintain gardens, Wipper snipping perhaps be involved in choosing plants. I do not know a lot about self sustaining gardens. We are only small, have number of fruit trees and roses that need pruning also. We are not purely organic at this stage we are beginners.

The Rickert family welcomes you to the middle of the bush! We are a very sociable and informal community consisting of Maria, her three adult children and two grand-children, including Pottery Studio, Café and Farmstay permanent staff and volunteers. We run a small farming business with horses, goats, sheep and chickens. If you have green fingers, there is a large organic green house that is in constant need of weeding, watering and harvesting. This is the home to the famous Pilliga Pottery, a large and flourishing creative enterprise, not to mention the Blue Wren Cafe that is open six days a week. Our buildings are unique and made from mud-brick, straw bale, rammed earth and local timbers. WE HAVE AN AMAZING DEEP AND COOL SWIMMING POOL !!! Volunteering includes gardening (weeding and watering), helping in the pottery studio. Leisure activities include volleyball, swimming, bush walking, bird watching, pottery, sculpture, artwork and playing musical instruments. If you do not own a vehicle, we will collect you from the bus stop in Coonabarabran. No smoking inside. Pet friendly.

To intersperse my time writing and researching and my caring role with more physical and social activity. To be with like-minded people in rural areas and to help people on the land with their self-sufficiency, care of the environment and food production. To learn all the skills I can in anticipation of building a tiny house and living in community.

As much as we love travelling and spending quality time as a family, we have really missed working and being apart of a community. After spending a couple of weeks in Biloela helping out on a cattle farm, we feel in our hearts that being rural, getting stuck into work and enjoying farm life is where we are happiest, which is why we wanted to join WWOOF! We feel that this will provide us with a sense of community, a sense of purpose outside of being parents, it will teach us new skills we hope to use when we own our own property one day (fingers crossed) and we know our son will flourish out in the fresh air with all of the animals!

We have a big sunny farmhouse in a small village that's ten minutes from Lismore, 20 minutes to Evans Head beach and about 45 minutes to Byron Bay. It's a 78 acre property on the river which currently runs cattle but is slowly transitioning to a sustainable community and native animal sanctuary. (Well that's the plan). We have a Natural Sequence farmer who runs Angus cattle here, often in the paddocks around the house. The house has loads of character, 4 big bedrooms with comfy beds and a saltwater swimming pool, loads of indoor and outdoor living spaces. We usually get 5 stars when we put it on Air bnb and I am a Superhost. You can look it up on airbnb under Wyrallah, NSW. Everything is provided and you can usually have the whole house and pool to yourselves. There is lots to see like secret waterfalls, art galleries and organic markets. It is a great area with a vibrant, creative community.  We love it and think you will too.

To learn natural practices so I can eventually use the skills in a community I would like to reside in. Am also looking forward to going back to basics and hopefully get an understanding of how local barter systems operate so this also will allow me to play a valuable role in community and help us get back to real food as i once was an unhealthy food participant. Excited to also experience a vast variety of cooking methods with real food. I

I joined WWOOF to pursue my passion for organic farming while traveling and to meet new farmers around the world. I enjoy growing food and flowers and being outside. I love traveling and travel a lot for my work. Prior to attending the University of Texas at Austin I spent my senior year of high school studying abroad in a small town in southern Spain. I have also taught English in Japan for one year. I have been gardening for about 15 years and have volunteered at some farms here in Austin, Texas. I like manual and physical labor and being outside, so being able to do this in another country is a great opportunity.
