A former horse rider and animal lover, I'm looking for a WWOOFing experience in Australia to discover the local culture, meet Australians and travelers from around the world, and improve my English. After an unforgettable first WWOOFing experience on a horse ranch in California in 2017, I'd love to relive this incredible human adventure. I'm a motivated person, dedicated to my work, and always ready to learn and give my best

We are brother and sister who run a cattle enterprise and also chickens. I work on the farm full time and my sister is a health care professional. Our property is 100 acres and we lease other land to further support our enterprise. Due to the impact of the 2019/2020 bushfires we have not been able to get on top of some of the bushfire remediation work and need some help with this.

I joined WWOOFing because I want to see Australia through the eyes of a resident. I want to get to know the culture and the work and the food and the people living here. I want to become a part of a family and feel comfortable where I go. I want to share my experiences and want to hear your stories so they can become part of mine.

We're looking to learn more about organic farming, permaculture, bush regeneration, living off grid, etc. We are excited to meet like-minded people, who are leading a simple yet fulfilling, happy life, and who are connected to nature. Hopefully we'll be able to take back some of the knowledge we'll get here, and apply it to our lives in Switzerland when we return!

I want to experience Australia in the most authentic way by working outdoors, learning new skills, and connecting with locals. WWOOF is a great opportunity to contribute through handson work while gaining insight into sustainable farming and rural life. Sustainability is not only part of my work but also something I value in everyday life. I enjoy being active, working as part of a team, and taking on new challenges. I’m looking forward to meeting great people, learning from their experiences, and making unforgettable memories along the way.

MOUNT MITCHELL is an historic farm in the central Victoria. Primarily we are a working farm, breeding sheep for both wool and meat, and growing some crops. The homestead and gardens create a beautiful space for events. We host weddings, group tours and open garden days on occasions. We endorse the paddock to plate concept and have an extensive vegetable garden and orchard. WWOOFer volunteering includes mowing, gardening, hedge trimming, sheep work, fencing, wood splitting, looking after farm animals & pets, machinery maintenance, painting, building & general farm and house maintenance. WWOOFers are accommodated in their own residence on the property. Some shared meals, or food provided to prepare your own meals. Prefer WWOOFers with stamina who are physically strong and fit. Extended stays are negotiable.

I have helped with farm work in various areas of Japan. I would like to use this experience to volunteer in Australia as well. Also, this is my first time living in Australia, I would like to learn more about the Australian culture and the Australian way of life. Living directly with local people is also the best opportunity for me to get more practice in speaking English. Please tell me about it!

We would love to work on an organic farm here in Australia and do fruit picking or animal work, for example. As we only worked in a Cafe before, broadening our horizon and doing physical work, WWOOFing is a thing we can’t stop thinking about since we first talked about work and travel. It would be so nice to experience the working environment on a farm as we are always excited about new challenges and meeting people.

The reason why we believe Wwofing is for us is because of our background working outside, as Landscaper we learnt valuable skills that could relate with the job and were not afraid to live remotely, coming from France and NZ couple who lives opposite side of the world.

A Paradise of food species from all over, Bamboos, Kayaking, fermenting, wicking beds, hands on with the sheep, the soil  and the plants, these are just some of the things awaiting you when you come to Bucca Haven, our 5 acres of on going, developing organic food forest. We have almost 50 bamboo clumps, all mature & provide endless mulch, shade & timber material for all sorts of projects. It is called the thinking mans timber. We grow an abundant and varied amount of food plants all year round, we can use anything from 10 to 30 different species in our green salad, none of which is lettuce! (Providing the sheep haven't got to them first) We have a number of different species of food plants from across the sub tropical regions of the earth, & are always on the lookout for more variety. We enjoy a sunny, warm to hot climate, 20c to 38c except in winter which for us in June thru to Sept which could be as low as 7c overnight to 27c daily & anything in between. We love good food, healthy food, home grown food. So if you like to cook, great! When the dam is full, it is our swimming hole. When the dam is low, we go 6k to the Kolan River for a cool swim, or Kayak. We are 31km from Bundaberg & 27 km from Gin Gin. I can collect you from either town if you do not have your own transport. I am e a Bible believer inmy mid 60's, still active, always learning, gardening, crafting, sewing, swimming, kayaking & socialising. But we need you to speak English as we don't have any other language. If you can read English too that is even better.

To gain opportunities I wouldn’t otherwise have access to, and learn new skills in different places as well as apply my own skill and knowledge to different projects in new environments to continue improving my trade

I have a large property in the beautiful rainforest area of Kangaroo Valley in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Unfortunately, we were badly hit by the Australian bushfires in January 2020, and much of the work on the farm still centres around bushfire recovery and construction.   We live a pioneering lifestyle without all the usual comforts: we have a composting toilet, off-site shower, outdoor 2-burner gas stove for cooking etc. We do now have a small solar power system, and internet. Accommodation is basic but comfortable. Food is good - that's important! You can also bring your own van, or sleep in your own tent if it has a sewn-in floor.   WWOOFers can learn building (often using timber we fell ourselves), including earth building, developing vegetable gardens and food forests, and many other diverse skills as we work together on a wide range of projects. No prior knowledge is needed, as I am happy to teach you everything you need to know. The purpose for the property ultimately is to establish long term accommodation for homeless or at-risk young people. My background is in social work, and I have many years' experience working with children and families in difficulty.   I really want to emphasise to all prospective WWOOFers that we still have a long way to go in restoring the property. In many ways it still looks like a disaster zone. Life is difficult here and I don't want you to be under any illusions that there is something romantic about colonial living. It is hard, and it is not something that just anyone can cope with. I need WWOOFers who understand this, and who thrive on working hard and making a contribution. So far, WWOOFers of this kind also find the experience deeply rewarding in a range of ways, as they have expressed in the reviews submitted below.

We are keen to learn more about, organic, sustainable and regenerative farming and to experience more of this wonderful country. We would like to meet new people and communities whilst we travel around Australia. We believe in locally sourced food from non-intensive operations and are keen to make a worthwhile contribution whilst learning and gaining experience in the field. We are both fit, enthusiastic and willing to work hard. We try to consume responsibly grown, fresh produce and feel that the WWOOFing community aligns with our principles in this regard. When we are finished travelling we hope to build a small house with a little patch of land to grow food for ourselves. We have heard great things about the WWOOFing experience and are looking forward to being involved.

I guess I joined this mainly from the desire of jumping into the unknown. I love heartfelt interactions that I’ll remember for the rest of my life and I hope to experience some of that again, just to remind myself there are good people on this planet again 🙂

I fell in love with Australia and would love to stay another year so I am trying to complete my 88 days! I also have a huge love for gardening and always have things growing in the veggie plot so I am excited to get my hands dirty and be out in the land.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
