I joined WWOOF because I think this is a meaningful, valuable, and enriching way to explore a country. I hope that this experience will allow me to be immersed in the Aussie lifestyle, to learn from local farmers, and to contribute to important work. Knowing where our food comes from and participating in this process is something that I think we can all benefit from. Beyond learning practical farming and animal care skills, I think that WWOOF will help me to form connections with like-minded people from all walks of life.

We are looking to WWOOF across Australia to deepen our knowledge and meet new people! Also, at the moment, Maryn is on a Working Holiday Visa (subclass 462) and looking to fulfill her 88 days to renew her second-year visa to stay in Australia another year. Liv's Aussie, and enthusiastic about contributing to the operations of the farm and getting out of the city and back in touch with nature!

About a year ago, friends introduced me to WWOOFing. They were really excited and had a great time. From that moment on, I thought I had to do it myself. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and gaining new experiences.

I joined WWOOF so that I can start having more of the traveller experience in my own country! I also dream one day of having my own property of some kind, so I'm here to collect experiences, learn new skills and see what life is like on/in a range of different farms, communities, properties etc.

I believe it is a wonderful opportunity to meet people, learn about their ways of life, exchange experiences, and engage in tasks that I don't usually do but know I will enjoy very much. Honestly, this will be the first time I do volunteer work both in Australia and in my life. I feel very motivated and excited to experience something different in a country that I appreciate a lot and that has helped me grow significantly as a person over the past two and a half years.

Passionate about animals since forever, I like to take care and spend time with them. Wwoofing would be an enriching experience for me, not only to deepen my knowledge and skills with animals, but also to improve my English because I am French, I would also like to take this opportunity to discover new countries, meet people from different backgrounds and live a unique experience.

I absolutely love living in the bush with my beautiful old kelpie, Marley. I live in a eco friendly, strawbale house. My home is surrounded by mature stringy bark eucalyptus trees, black wattle, tee trees and native banksia trees, as well as beautiful native wild flowers and orchids. There is a dam and other buildings on the land which borders the Otway State Forest. I need help in the organic vegetable garden, land and vegetation maintenance, the chickens, fire wood collection and diy. I'm friendly, open minded, easy going woman, who believes that nature and natural environments support better health and well-being. Please send me a message on my mobile, if you're interested.

I want to know the origin of the place and learn about the weight of life. Because they can also be the source of my artist activities. And, I want to get along with my host's family like a second Australian family. Also, I want to gain knowledge and experience in agriculture through my work. And, I want to broaden my interest.

I would really love the opportunity to venture beyond my "regular" corporate life and explore what the world has to offer! I love learning about new cultures, experiences and languages and am very happy to share all of my experiences so far as well.

Heartwood Farm is a 7 acre property at Newrybar in the Byron Bay Hinterland. The farm includes a mixed orchard, an intensive market garden, pasture, and a rainforest revegetation project, all managed organically. WWOOFers will be exposed to the techniques of intensive organic fruit and vegetable production, including green manuring, composting, and crop rotation, along with rainforest regeneration. Heartwood is still in its development phase, so WWOOFers will also be exposed to a sustainability-focused design process emerging from landscape and climate observations of this unique location.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
