I would like to meet new people, learn new skills and also make my self available to help others on their properties to build on the land and develop off grid or farm properties. Partly because One day I want one of my own and partly because I want to be in the world engaging and learning., I also would love to learn more about running a farm, looking after animals and building complex structures.

Skills I Want to Learn:
Despite my interests in production animals, I could not get to experience much animal husbandry practices as I grew up in urban areas in Korea. As I wanted to learn more about Australia's livestock industry and also in a sense that veterinary school strongly encourages us to engage in extramural animal husbandry studies, I applied to sign up for WWOOF. As a vet student, I hope I could contribute to hosts’ duties in a more professional manner, practicing basic husbandry skills from handling, mustering, vaccination, drenching, and artificial insemination. Besides, having the understandings in running a farm would also be a precious chance for us for our future career. Also, having the experience to stay in rural Australian farms would give me and my friends more meaningful chance to explore real Australia and make memorable experiences immersed with great nature. We are also excited to make friends from all over the globe as well as the hosts in Australia.

I am considering applying for a third visa while learning more about Australia. I want to know about organic and healthy living, the current state of Australia, and its nature and lifestyle. Additionally, I hope to contribute something useful while in Australia. I want to learn the knowledge needed for self-sufficiency and living on my own strength. I also want to be able to cook delicious meals without relying on eating out. My grandfather had run a completely pesticide-free farm, so I would be delighted to learn more about pesticide-free and organic farming. I also want to experience life away from the city.   Why I Came to Australia This story is a bit long. Since childhood, I have been suffering from atopic dermatitis. In my first year as a working adult, I developed severe atopic dermatitis, insomnia, Achilles tendonitis, Adrenal Fatigue, and other illnesses due to stress from a harsh work environment and an unhealthy diet. I visited a clinic that practiced integrative medicine, nutritional therapy, and natural therapy, where I received various dietary advice. After that, I followed a diet for about three years that avoided eggs, wheat, dairy products, sugar, food additives, and trans fats. Nowdays, my atopic dermatitis and other health issues improved remarkably, allowing me to handle any job. Even now, I try to avoid wheat, milk, and sugar as much as possible. So I can handle physical work without any problems! I have overcome many hardships and am now surprisingly doing well. AND I have realized firsthand how important the food we eat is. For about ten years, I had a desire to learn English, but self-study didn't progress well, and I struggled with daily life. Therefore, I decided to go on a working holiday. In Japan, outside of Tokyo, there are hardly any gluten-free or vegan options, and organic products are very expensive. My grandfather passed away when I was in high school, so I no longer had the opportunity to eat delicious vegetables. It was very challenging and costly to maintain my dietary restrictions, and there were few places where I could eat out. In Australian markets, there are fresh and vibrant vegetables and fruits, and just seeing them lifts my spirits! I knew that gluten-free and organic options were prevalent in Australia. So, when considering a working holiday, Australia was my only choice. Next year, I plan to return to Melbourne, participate in various communities, and achieve my goals. However, I've had a great experience with my first WWOOF and have learned a lot about the wonderful countryside, so I may be doing something different next year! Farming is fascinating and fun!

I joined wwoofing as I have experienced it a few years back in both Canada and Japan. I found the experiences worth while and meaningful. The concept is very pure and important, giving people the opportunity to return to country, return to nature, return to the roots of health and be able to connect to land and gain a new perspective. A perspective that I believe is often a healing experience and a time to expand critical thought.

My cousin introduced me to WWOOF while I was visiting her in Canada. I've wanted to experience living abroad for a while, so I’m interested in trying WWOOF myself. I think it would be a great way to improve my English and learn some farm skills at the same time.

A friend started an organic farm near my hometown almost ten years ago, and I’ve been helping out every now and then. What I loved most was the sense of community: meeting locals, Woofers from all over the world, and feeling a stronger connection to my own land through those experiences. That time on the farm stayed with me—it showed me how fulfilling it is to work with the earth and share moments with people who care about the same values. Now I’m excited to bring that same energy to Australia, to learn, help out, and be part of something meaningful.

I'm 29 years old, but I’ve actually known about the WWOOF system since my university days and have always been interested in it. Back then, my mind was completely occupied with thoughts about my future and finding a job, so even though I wanted to try WWOOFing, I never took that first step. But now, being on a working holiday has finally given me the opportunity to do so. To extend my working holiday visa, I worked on a farm for three months. Unfortunately, the working conditions were quite poor, and I don’t want to judge all farm work in Australia based on just that experience. I genuinely want to experience the real Australian lifestyle. Through WWOOF, I hope to communicate with hosts, learn from them, and make the most of this unique and valuable opportunity to be part of daily life in Australia.

To experience rural Australian life, meet new people, and to gain knowledge in a wide variety of different areas in organic horticulture/agriculture. We would like the opportunity to be able to feel like we’re living off grid but with purpose and a lust for life.

I want to join WWOOF because I’m looking for new and meaningful experiences in Australia. I’ve always been interested in Tasmania and dreamed of living there. I also hope to see the aurora someday. Through WWOOF, I want to experience a lifestyle that I could never try in Japan and learn more about nature, farming, and different cultures.

I’d like to be helpful to others through my experiences. I think I can make use of my previous work experience on WWOOF . I also gain new experiences and grow further. I’m not a good English speaker but I try to improve my English skills.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
