I joined WWOOF as I have become disillusioned with western culture and capitalism and its materialist value systems as a whole. Money and things are of no value to me. I am searching for new experiences and ways of living in nature and would eventually like to be 100% self sustainable. I want to learn from those who have something to teach and have great conversations. I Joined wolf to breathe the free air!

I came to Australia for a working holiday, and it was more fun than I thought. So I wanted to get a second visa, so I looked into it, and I got to know a wwoof where I can work close to nature, so I applied because I really wanted to participate.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people and having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. We are regularly  booked 3 to 4 months in advance with mostly long-term guests. This should not deter you to ask anyway as booked helpers sometimes cancel their spot. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2 hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, flower beds, lawns as well as a goat on paddocks and a cute house cat. Bernward is semi retired but still runs a sustainable architecture and building consultancy business part time from offices attached to the home. Barbara works at the local hospital. We have been accommodating helpers since 2011  through various help exchange sites. If you want a break from travelling in a non judgmental  friendly  family environment and you are open and self-motivated, this is the place for you. This is not an action or party place but rather a place to start your journey inward to grow and get to know yourself and your interaction with others. Deep discussions are possible in a relaxed atmosphere. Be creative with great light, & scenery for painting and photography, writing, music and getting back to nature. A big woodworking workshop invites creativity. I enjoy teaching woodworking skills to our helpers with the option to learn how to fit out campervans and tiny houses. A couple of times a week we heat up our Finnish Sauna and helpers are encouraged to join. A great place to open up, listen to yourself and have meaningful discussions. Help is always needed in the garden & paddock, picking berries & apples, looking after animals, weed control, making firewood, compost, cleaning up sheds & around the place, sometimes on a sustainable building site. We live 45min by car from Adelaide, 45min from safe swimming beaches & 45min from the surf, so we are pretty central. Accommodation  for 2 in separate stone cottage & own room in the main building. All share in home cooked evening meal. Mixed diet. No smokers please. Longer stays (min 3 weeks) preferred after initial few days.

I am looking forward to learn Australian farming methods and develop an understanding of the local culture here. I also like to spend my day with a satisfactory labour to win a good nights sleep and stay worthy of the food i receive. I like WOOF as a concept to build a great global community of farmers and travellers.

The first time I heard about WWOOFing was from a friend of mine I met during the Erasmus student exchange. He explained it briefly to me and I was immediately drawn to the idea of doing it myself. The possibility of staying abroad completely immersed in a different culture, working on a farm, as well learning about the various methods of organic farming directly from experienced hosts. It sounded absolutely perfect! The part that I love the most about visiting other countries is getting to meet new people, learn about their culture, experiences and everyday lives. I am a student and I try to use every opportunity that we, as young people have, to learn about the world. That is why WWOOFing seems like a perfect choice for me! As a member of the younger generation worrying about the environment I know that broadening our horizons on the more eco-friendly methods of living our lives is crucial, as climate change effects impact us more and more every year. Helping eco-conscious and organic farmers feels like the best way to learn and thus make more conscious choices throughout the rest of my life. As I have written before – nature is very important to me - most of my hobbies are inherently connected to it. That is why I also want to learn how to be able to help preserve it. I am also a very enthusiastic person who is always up for a new challenge and gaining new skills.

Growing up in rural Japan, I have fond memories of spending time in nature, sometimes helping my family’s small garden and neighbors farm. This experience sparked a deep love for nature, which led me to study biology in university. I'm excited to join WWOOF to experience farm life in Australia and gain hands-on knowledge in sustainable agriculture. I also enjoy talking with people, getting to know them, and listening to their stories.

To find work. I want to travel and explore queensland as I've not been much and want to take a gap year there. I want to meet new people and experience nature and get a break from Sydney before I go back to study next year.

A friends daughter joined WWOOF out of high school and had a very positive experience. I love to travel and learn new things, especially about serving the earth. More than anything, I want to reconnect with nature and learn new skills to better serve the planet and community.

Have been living on our beautiful, organic farm for over 20 years. It is full of fruit trees, our cows, vegie gardens, birds, bush, lizards, fireflys and a dam and creek to swim in. We are working towards turning part of the farm into an ecotourist caravan/cabin/camping space, so people can come and enjoy nature. I, (Melina) work as a herbalist/yoga teacher/masseuse in a clinic I run in town, in nearby Macksville. Neri Murphy (my 25 year old son) organises the farm. We spend most mornings together working on the farm and some mornings going for a surf at the local beach. We have a caravan for WWOOFers, so if you come and visit you will have your own space. We have really good internet and good phone reception.

Our property is located between Airlie Beach and Mackay. We have several houses on the property, cattle and orchards. There is a permanent creek with large swimming holes and the property borders Eungella National Park so it is perfect for nature lovers. We are very laid back people who enjoy the outdoors.

I want to experience new adventures, meet new people, improve my English and learn new things and skills. I am looking for my new professional career and while I am waiting for the turning point, I would like to go on an introspective journey and I think there is no better way to do this than by experiencing new things.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
