Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people and having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. We are regularly  booked 3 to 4 months in advance with mostly long-term guests. This should not deter you to ask anyway as booked helpers sometimes cancel their spot. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2 hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, flower beds, lawns as well as a goat on paddocks and a cute house cat. Bernward is semi retired but still runs a sustainable architecture and building consultancy business part time from offices attached to the home. Barbara works at the local hospital. We have been accommodating helpers since 2011  through various help exchange sites. If you want a break from travelling in a non judgmental  friendly  family environment and you are open and self-motivated, this is the place for you. This is not an action or party place but rather a place to start your journey inward to grow and get to know yourself and your interaction with others. Deep discussions are possible in a relaxed atmosphere. Be creative with great light, & scenery for painting and photography, writing, music and getting back to nature. A big woodworking workshop invites creativity. I enjoy teaching woodworking skills to our helpers with the option to learn how to fit out campervans and tiny houses. A couple of times a week we heat up our Finnish Sauna and helpers are encouraged to join. A great place to open up, listen to yourself and have meaningful discussions. Help is always needed in the garden & paddock, picking berries & apples, looking after animals, weed control, making firewood, compost, cleaning up sheds & around the place, sometimes on a sustainable building site. We live 45min by car from Adelaide, 45min from safe swimming beaches & 45min from the surf, so we are pretty central. Accommodation  for 2 in separate stone cottage & own room in the main building. All share in home cooked evening meal. Mixed diet. No smokers please. Longer stays (min 3 weeks) preferred after initial few days.

Heartwood Farm is a 7 acre property at Newrybar in the Byron Bay Hinterland. The farm includes a mixed orchard, an intensive market garden, pasture, and a rainforest revegetation project, all managed organically. WWOOFers will be exposed to the techniques of intensive organic fruit and vegetable production, including green manuring, composting, and crop rotation, along with rainforest regeneration. Heartwood is still in its development phase, so WWOOFers will also be exposed to a sustainability-focused design process emerging from landscape and climate observations of this unique location.

We have a beautiful 40 acre horse agistment property, veggie garden & fruit trees and approx. 5 acres bush. 3 min drive to surf beach, bay beach & Inverloch town or 10 min drive to Wonthaggi, a larger town. Volunteering may include harvesting, food collection, composting, mulching, hay carting, weeding, fencing, planting, food preservation.  Sometimes there is some work caring for horses: often all the work is in the garden and paddock maintenance, as the horses are mainly looked after by their owners. We eat a healthy, sustainable diet.  Bron is vegan and while Ray eats most foods, many meals are vegan or vegetarian.  Vegetarians & vegans catered for.  No children, no smoking, all stays negotiable on application. Hi everyone, we're looking for  woofers to help out on our 75 acre farm in exchange for food and accommodation. A bit about us and where you'll be staying. We're a Christian family with 5  children at home. We have animals, including horses, cows, 2 dogs, a Maremma and Rottweiler, chickens, and a cat. We have a one-acre garden where we grow organic vegetables and have fruit trees. The woofers are  welcome to ride our horses, and brush them. The jobs that the Woofers will be doing are physical, for approximately 4 hrs a day,5 days a week, such as weeding, planting, pruning, fertilizing, composting, whipper snipping, mowing, cooking and other projects, including housework when it's raining, so it is necessary to be fit and active. While having lots of fun in between. Accommodation. The woofers sleeping area is a camping trailer we lived in when we did Wwoofing about 10 years ago, that has been placed under a shelter with a brand new timber deck around it. We have a heater to keep you warm in winter. The toilet, shower and kitchen are all in our house for you to use. During winter,we do get frost, so early morning and late afternoon is very cold, but during the day it's like summer. Then during summer it's very hot here. We're looking for someone to come and be a part of our family for a period of time to share each other's interests and knowledge. We're located about 30 minutes out of Coffs Harbour. If you feel led to come and spend time with us we'd like to either meet in person or via Skype, so we can  get to know each other beforehand. We look forward to hearing from anyone that's interested. Kind regards, Nicole 😊

Hi there lovely WWOOFers! Sam (37) Clara (31) and Reilly (1.5 in 2020) here. While Reilly was just a twinkle our eyes, Clara and I spent 4.5 years travelling Australia in our awesome veggie oil-powered Landcruiser, searching for the most beautiful spots to set up camp and call home for a week or two. After our first 3 month tour of Tasmania, we just fell in love with the place, returning every summer for more of the same. Somehow we just knew we'd end up here. As we travelled, we gained a real appreciation for simple living and developed a taste for the best organic local food sourced from farmers markets as we went. This just helped fuel the dream of a beautiful camp to set up in permanently, and do our best at living a low impact, natural, self-sufficient, homesteading lifestyle. When 6 months pregnant, out of the blue, the bank of Dad called up and offered a loan to help make our dream come true. And we‘ve always dreamed big.

Koala Hill Flower Farm is situated near Toowoomba (40 km N) with beautiful soil but nature is our best asset! A small portion of our property of 100 acres is devoted to growing dahlias and native foliage for florists. We do not use nasty chemicals and try to work with nature to provide a high quality product. Our little piece of paradise is home to koalas, wallabies, bandicoots and over 100 species of birds. We have a secluded remnant rainforest, spring fed creek and beautiful eucalypts that tower above the palms. We would welcome an individual or a couple into our home and treat them like family. There are local national parks nearby and we are just a bus trip from western Queensland and the outback to explore using our home as a good base. We are flexible and would consider a study and stay person but you would benefit greatly to have your own transport although public transport is nearby. My husband and I would welcome someone that wants to learn some of the skills we have learnt and we can learn of you too. Wake up in the morning to the sounds of beautiful birds and go to sleep at night to the sound of owls hooting and frogs calling. We have one spare room so we can host one or two people. We would prefer people to be able to communicate in English and prefer non smokers. Please feel free to call or arrange a zoom to ask questions and discuss how we can help make your stay in Australia memorable!

Nurrewin is a property situated 2 hours north of Sydney, in the beautiful Wollombi Valley. Situated 15 minutes from the historic village of wollombi, the 35 hectares of native forest is a wildlife sanctuary on an old Aboriginal land. The main house is a traditional pole house, with large decks and verandah, built on a cleared elevated plateau with beautiful views of the valleys around. Adjacent is another building, converted in an artist studio. The property is completely autonomous, off the grid, with a powerful solar installation, rainwater tanks, phone and internet communication by satellite. The forest is composed of grey gums, red gums, blue gums, mountain ash, stingybark, turpentine, white mahogany, iron ark, wattles…etc, it was affected by the 2019/2020 bushfire and since then has been regenerating. I am an artist, I have a solo painting exhibition every 2 years. I share my time between painting in the studio and looking after the forest, mainly clearing areas to create firebreaks in the forest, or weeding invasive non native species after regeneration. The place is very peaceful, unique natural environment, with wildlife all around : many birds, wallabies, wombats, goannas, possums…etc I am a musician, playing piano and accordéon. I am also a volunteer for the Wollombi Valley Arts Council, managing 2 galleries for local and aboriginal artists in Wollombi village.

Nine Planets lies at the end of the Chapman River Sanctuary adjacent Lashmar's Lagoon Sanctuary and about 600 meters from Antechamber Bay, one of the largest, most pristine and undisturbed beaches on Kangaroo Island's coast. The Chapman River teams with bream and the beach is a sanctuary for endangered hooded plovers which nest in the sand just above the high water line in late spring. Garfish, tommies, flathead and mullet can be caught from the beach if you are adept at shore fishing. Lashmar's Lagoon is a sanctuary for waterbirds and teems with black swans, ducks, pelicans, sacred ibis and other birds. In winter and spring black swans grazing in pasture adjacent the lagoon outnumber farmers' sheep. Kangaroos, wallabies and goannas usually visit daily and dozens of bird species including magpies, currawongs, superb fairywrens, honeyeaters, thornbills, red browed finches and silver eyes call in for a drink and/or bath, whilst wedge tailed eagles and the very rare white bellied sea eagle may be seen soaring overhead. At night the calls of boobook owls can be heard in the distance. It is often windy, but rarely very hot or very cold.

I have never had the opportunity to start a farming or livestock business in my life. That is why I want to use this service and gain experience. I also participated in this program because I am interested in the food and lifestyle of the local people. I want to use this experience to start farming in Japan.

I joined WWOOF because, as I said, I’m on a journey of self-discovery. I’ve never truly been on my own and I reached a point where abandoning my comfort zone entirely is the best way to do that. Hence, joining WWOOF and seeing what good I can do on the other side of this floating space rock! I’m so intrigued by the idea of creating a homestead and living an organic life. I feel WWOOFing is an amazing way for me to broaden my horizons, learn skills I’m eager to learn, work with animals, and get to see a country I’ve been dying to see since I was a kid. It checks a lot of boxes for me 🙂

I decided to join WWOOF because I knew the impact it made on many individuals within Australia and I thought about all the ways I would be able to give back while also learning more about the Country I’ll be living in. I believe that there is no better way to educate myself than from the perspective of the people that have been there all/most of their lives. I would love to be able to meet individuals within the community and hopefully make some new friends along the way.

I joined because I want to experience new things and grow as a person. I think WOOFING would give me a unique access to meeting people, experiencing new things and gaining confidence in new situations. I think it is a wonderful thing to be let into someones home and to be able to contribute to their life. I love meeting new people and building connections. I have so much to learn from others and I would like to think that I could teach people a thing or two.
